He was predeceased by: his mother Ruby Mae Wright Pickens; his grandmother Willie Elizabeth Morris; and his uncle Andrew Wright. He is survived by: his wife Angela Gibbs Wright; his children, Carlos Gibbs, Cortez Gibbs of Lenoir, Mariah Wright, Catherine Davis (Samuel) of Lenoir, Tamara Wright-Maharaj of Huntsville, Tonya Garris (Eric) of Fayetteville and Tosha Kissler (Auntwan) of Hickory; and his grandchildren, Tania Wright of Huntsville, Jae Wright of Huntsville, Briana Williams (Terrell) of Huntsville, Tavia Garris of Atlanta, GA, Zamar Garris of Fayetteville, Kendra Greene of Lenoir, Deja Gibbs of Lenoir, Hailey Gibbs of Lenoir and Andrea Smith of Concord.
