He was predeceased by: his wife Tommie Irvina Allen Cloer; and his parents, Thad Hez and Ollie Hendrix Hensley Cloer. He is survived by: his children, Thomas Thad Cloer (Tina Drawdy Cloer), Paul Edwin Cloer and Georgeanna Cloer Josey (John Josey); his grandchildren, Sarah Hedrick, Zoe Cloer, Ridge Hedrick, Nathan Cloer and Susannah Josey; and his sisters, Shirley Cloer Rocha (Augustine) and Joyce Cloer Viale. He is also survived by one nephew and two nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his name to Lenoir Presbyterian Church.
