It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe William Griffey Sr. of Lenoir, North Carolina, who passed away on February 13, 2024, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ott Griffey and Rene Griffey; his brother Robert; and his son Joey Griffey. He is survived by: his wife Gail Griffey; his daughters, Kathy Jo Rondomanski (Mark) and Dener Dille (Steve); his stepsons, Steve Meador (Robin), Tom Meador (Melissa) and Tony Yakos (Amy); his uncle Bobby Keener; and his cousin Janice Andrukaitis. He is also survived by grandchildren; great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to two meaningful causes close to Joe's heart: America's Gold Star Families - Founded to provide honor, hope, and healing to those grieving any military loss while serving active duty.
