He was predeceased by: his father Daily Earl Gilbert. He is survived by: his wife Lorena Brown Gilbert; his children, Jimmy Rondal Gilbert II (Ann Marie) of Taylorsville, Jennifer Coffey (David) of Lenoir, Kathy McCarter (Jimmy) of Lenoir, Sharon Knight (Duane) of Granite Falls and Judy Carter of Lenoir; and his brother Roger Gilbert. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
