He was predeceased by: his parents, James Willard Ward and Margaret Arnold; and his brother Jeffery Potter. He is survived by: his close friend Roger Mitchell of Lenoir; his children, Erin Ward of Hickory, Enya Ward of Lenoir and Jimmy "Dean" Ward of Lenoir; his stepmother Jackie Ward of Gamewell; and his siblings, Paul "David" Ward of Lenoir, Charles Hamby of Lenoir, Debbie Dickens (Norman) of Tennessee, Tammy Griffin (Eddie) of Tennessee, Jeanna Warhurst (Troy) of Lenoir and Wendy Whitt of Lenoir. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
