He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Esley Colvard and Ella Icenhour Colvard; his son Thomas Colvard; and his siblings, Carson Colvard, Bill Colvard, John Colvard, Howard Colvard, Grace Colvard, Dorothy Hatton, Virginia Nelson, Betty Beaver and Minnie Colvard.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Darlene Colvard; his children, James, Christopher Allen Colvard and April Vecchio; his sister Peggy Bollinger; and his cousin Henry Pitts. He is also survived by five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
