He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Smith and Beulah Church Cardwell of Virginia; and his siblings, Ted Cardwell and Barbara Cardwell. He is survived by: his sons, Allan M. Cardwell (Charity) of Hudson and Keith V. Cardwell of Las Vegas, NV; his brother Terry D. Cardwell (Tammy); his nieces and nephews, Chris of Lenoir and Heather of Lenoir; his siblings, David Cardwell of Lenoir, Sue Coffey of Lenoir, Dorothy Coffey of Lenoir and Brenda Triplett (Larry) of Lenoir; his nieces, Hannah Cardwell and Sarah Cardwell; his nephew Noah Cardwell; and also Keiri Cardwell.
