He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady James Harshaw, Sr. and Ruth Ferguson Harshaw; his son Jefferey Jerome Harshaw, Jr.; and his siblings, Ruth Rutherford, Montrose Harshaw, Jerry Harshaw and Grady Harshaw, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Mona Dula Harshaw; his sons, Jerrod Dula (Stayci) of Lenoir and Brent Harshaw (Leslie) of Lenoir; and his siblings, Houston Harshaw (Dorothy) of South Carolina, Joseph Warlix of Tennessee, Sheila Harshaw of Lenoir, Glenda Harshaw of Lenoir and Janetta Norwood (Rayford) of Lenoir. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
