She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Shelby Joseph Powell and Eva Icenhour Powell; her husband Henry Monroe Smith; her siblings, Barbara Powell Craig and Steve Powell; her sons, Monte Stephen Smith (Cricket) and Rand Powell Smith (Pam); and her nephew Hans Holland Craig of Mocksville. She was also cherished by 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
