He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Simmons and Scottie Underdown Simmons; and his wife Jennie Simmons. He is survived by: his siblings, Charles Simmons, Alfred Simmons, Cargel Simmons, Wayne Simmons, Clyde Simmons, William Simmons, Joseph Simmons, Faye Smith and Joyce Adkins; his children, Melessa Arrowood (Dwight) of Lenoir, Beverly Smith (Marty) of Baton and Kevin Simmons (Teresa) of Dudley Shoals; his grandchildren, Brad Beach, Stacy Gentry, Stuart Smith, Daniel Simmons (Hannah) of Ellendale and Amanda Simmons Holder (Cameron) of Claudeville, VA; and his great grandchildren, Andrew, Mattie, Gillian and Kaleb Beach. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be a private graveside service.
