He is survived by: his wife Khamphun Burkett; and his children, Jimmy Edward Burkett, Jr. (Ulrike) of Winterville and Cindy McCausley (Jimmy) of New Bern. He is also survived by four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
