He was predeceased by: his parents, James Floyd Chester and Nancy Ann Eller Chester of Lenoir; his wife Mary Osborne Chester; his mother-in-law Iris Poston Osborne; and his sisters, Betty Hill and Deborah Osborne.
He is survived by: his children, Heather Chester (Tyler Austin) of Hudson, Nathan Osborne (Alicia) of Lenoir and Dustin Chester (Tori Crump) of Gamewell; his brother Bob Chester (Diane) of Lenoir; his grandchildren, Trinity Denny of Lenoir, Hailey Jackson of Wilkesboro, Katelyn Chester of Lenoir and Emmalynn Chester of Gamewell; his great grandchild Sawyer Lefevers of Wilkesboro; and his sisters-in-law, Linda Townsend of Lenoir and Ruby McCoy of Lenoir.
