He was predeceased by: his father Paul Burdette. He is survived by: his wife Tina Withers Burdette; his children, James Richard Burdette, Codi Burdette Johnson (Zach) and Austin Douglas Burdette (Taylor); his grandchildren, Addison Johnson, Mason Williams and Easton Burdette; and his siblings, Paul Richard Burdette (Shirley), Jerell Wyatt Burdette (Ginger) and Brenda Kay Burdette Walthall. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
