He was predeceased by: his parents, Fleming Donald Cole and Willie Kay Johnson Cole; and his siblings, Jerry Cole and Teresa Cole. He is survived by: his children, Wesley Cole of Morganton, Holly Rhoades (Chris) of Lenoir and Heather Suttles (Dylan) of Asheville; his brothers, Steve Cole of Hudson and William Cole of Lenoir; and his grandchildren, Scarlett Mosley, Pixie Mosely, Aurora Rhoades, River Suttles and Ryder.
