He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Hartley and Ruby Kincaid Hartley; his wife Betty Penley Hartley; and his brother Allen Greene. He is survived by: his siblings, Wayne Hartley (Bobbi) of Lenoir, Linda Phillips (Joe) of Lenoir, Mattie Hartley Spears of Lenoir and Diane Cable of Lenoir; his daughter Jeanette Hatley of Lenoir; his stepdaughters, Jane Thomas of Lenoir and Linda Shell of Lenoir; his great grandchildren, Joe Cable and Harold; and also, Scott Philyaw of Lenoir, Cody Pennell, Daniel Effler, Jerry "Junior" Hicks, Jeremy Blankenship, Scott Church and Rusty Robertson.
