It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Hallie Harris Childress of Lenoir, North Carolina, who passed away on October 5, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Harris and Molly Durham Harris; her husband B. Childress; her children, Roger Dale Childress, Donnie Marshall Childress, Lonnie Scott Childress, Yolanda Gay Childress and Brenda Carolyn Saunders; and her grandsons, James Bryant Saunders and Gary Dale Phillips.
She is survived by: her children, Ronnie Childress (Patricia) of Granite Falls, Sandra Childress of Lenoir and Jane Childress Phillips of Granite Falls. She is also survived by grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
