She was predeceased by: her parents, James Calvin (Jim) and Mamie Quinn Casper; and her husband Al Jennings Sutton. She is survived by: her children, Sonya Nowak (John) of Charlotte, Jennifer Blackmon (Doug Powell) of Kinston and Al Sutton Jr. (Patrice) of Cary, NC; her grandchildren, James Sutton (Jim) of Denver, CO., Sarah S. Illes (Gabe) of Mebane, NC, Megan Sutton of Raleigh, NC, Chris Nowak of Charlotte, Lindsay Nowak of Wellesley, MA, Ashton Blackmon (Shelby) of Atlantic Beach, NC and Memoree Blackmon of Raleigh, NC; and her great grandchildren, Gabriel John Illes IV and Huxley Miles Blackmon.
