He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Bulla Maust; and his brother Tommy Maust of Johnson City, Tennessee.. He is survived by: his father George Maust Sr.; his wife Sandra Gaines Maust; his children, Dirk Maust (Jenn) of Phoeniz, Mark Maust of Myrtle Beach, Jimmy Dwayne Shell (Jessica) of Lyman and Sandy Zoubeck of Winston Salem; his brother Larry Maust (Lib) of Roanoke, Virginia; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Caroline, Jaz Zoubeck, Laurel Tinsley (Ryne), Madison Shell and Gable Bishop.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (309 Church St NW, Lenoir, NC 28645). A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
