She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Walter Patterson and Pearl White Patterson; her grandparents, Robert Patterson and Maude Witherspoon Patterson; and her brother Robert James Patterson.
She is survived by: her husband Samuel V. Patterson, Sr.; her daughter Dr. Andrea Patterson-Masuka; her son-in-law Francois Masuka; her grandson Antoine Benoit Patterson-Masuka; her stepchildren, Minister Mary Patterson, Steven Patterson and Rev. S. Verdell Patterson Jr. (Carla); and her nephew Glenn Patterson. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-nieces, nephews, and cousins.
