He was predeceased by: his parents, E. A. Duckworth (Gus) and Georgia Reep Duckworth; his sister Jane Brown; and his brothers-in-law, George Brown (Bill) and Donald Dean.
He is survived by: his wife Anita; his sisters, Barbara Dean, Joyce Austin and Angela Martin of Morganton; and his niece Martha Austin Wilson (Alan).
