He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Hamby and Ethel Bolick Hamby; and his sister Jolene Triplett. He is survived by: his wife Sarah Soots Hamby; his daughter Gwin H. Laws (Randy) of Lenoir; his siblings, Bruce Hamby of Lenoir and Wanda Suddreth of Lenoir; and his grandson Zak Laws.
