He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Severt and Bertha Haga Severt; his wife Annie McGarr Severt; his son Everett Claude Severt; his son-in-law Frank Everhardt; and his siblings, Frank Severt and Gladys McLean.
He is survived by: his children, Earnest Paul Severt, Jr. (Margie) of Lenoir, Sandra Joyce Tolbert (Kenneth) of Lenoir and Glenda "Marlene" Everhardt of Lenoir. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
