It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Ann Burris Winkler of Lenoir, North Carolina, who passed away on February 4, 2021, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jerry Thomas and Myrtle Price Burris; and her siblings, Kenneth Burris, Roger Burris, Brenda Kirby and Jeri Lynn Robbins.
She is survived by: her husband Rev. Dee H. Winkler; her children, Homer L. Winkler (Brenda) of Lenoir, Jeffrey A. Winkler (Elendria) of Lenoir, Angela W. Bentley of Lenoir and Donna W. Philyaw (James) of Hudson; her sisters, Irene Harvey of Illinois, Mary Craig of Lenoir and Martha Murphy of Lenoir; her grandchildren, Keila Keller (Kevin), Chase Avery, Pastor Seth Avery (Lisa) and Carla McGinnis (Keith); and her great grandchildren, Kayla Avery, Zerden Keller, Michael McGinnis, Elizabeth McGinnis, Elijah Avery, Nehemiah Avery and Malachi Avery.
