She was predeceased by: her parents, Gordon "Gene" Whisnant and Betty Jo Prestwood Shew; her brother Dennis Whisnant; and her daughter Elizabeth Lane. She is survived by: her daughter Tammy Lane (Anthony Walker); her siblings, Terry Ray Whisnant of Lenoir, Lisa Phillips (Jim) of Lenoir, Debbie Spann (Raymond) of Boone, Vickie Barnes (Ricky) of Raleigh and Freida Whisnant of Hudson; and her grandchildren, Heather R. Lane and Victor S. Walker. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
