He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Merle LaFevre and Fannie Irene Fowler LaFevre; his wife Thesta LaFevre; his stepson Timothy Michael Lail; and his sister Margaret Ann LaFevre Tygard.

He is survived by: his stepdaughter-in-law Sandy Lail of Taylorsville; his stepson Joseph Marcus Lail (Kristi) of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Jennifer "Jennie" Lail (Antwyne) and Steven Sylvester Lail (Caroline); his great grandchildren, Maya Mayes, Jaxon Lail and Mackenzie Icard; his siblings, Inanna LaFevre of California, Jan LaFevre of Las Vegas, Nevada, Leland LaFevre of Durham and Phil LaFevre (Sandra Coffey) of Draco; his nieces, Lauren LaFevre and Hayley LaFevre; and his great-nephew Mason Harmon.
