He was predeceased by: his father Perry Oscar Frye; and his siblings, Harold Frye, Max Frye, Ebba Jo Morrison, Jean Beach and Janet Conway.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Triplett Frye; his children, Dan William Frye (Gina Smith Frye) of Statesville and Dana Frye Roten (Ivan Carl Roten) of Boone; his grandchildren, Jake William Frye, Baylee Renee Frye, Graham Frye Roten and Marshal Frye Roten; and his sister Barbara Frye Hicks of Lenoir. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
