He was predeceased by: his father David L. Kersey; and his father-in-law Gary D. Woodruff. He is survived by: his wife Becky W. Kersey; his sons, Benjamin Kersey of Lenoir and Hunter Kersey (Calista Witherspoon); his mother-in-law Kathy Massagee (John); his siblings, Thomas Kersey (Joanie) of Lenoir, David Kersey, Jr. of Morganton, Nancy Coffey (John) of Morganton and Linda Edwards (Greg) of Marion; his close friend Edward Swink (Nicole); and his pets, Izzy, Mylan, Mable, Hydro, Babygirl Kersey, Bruno Witherspoon Kersey and Whatknot. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
