He was predeceased by: his parents, James Davis Barnes and Ruby Cooke Barnes; and his sisters, Cynthia Curtis and Debra Lail. He is survived by: his wife Mary Nelson Barnes; his son Eric Cody Barnes (Kristy) of Hickory; his stepson Alex Wayne Nelson of Lenoir; his half-brother Danny Ray Lowman of Connelly Springs; his brother-in-law Ronnie Curtis of Granite Falls; and his grandchildren, Dylan Barnes of Hickory, Allison Barnes of Hickory, Mckinley Barnes of Hickory and Blake Barnes of Hickory.
