He was predeceased by: his parents, Shuford Reeves and Helen Marie Crisp Kirby; and his daughter Elizabeth Marie Kirby. He is survived by: his wife Betty Marie Reid Kirby; his sons, Gregory Brian Kirby of Tryon, NC and Russell Scott Kirby (Monica) of Lenoir; his siblings, Lyle Kirby (Cindy) of Lenoir, Letchard Kirby (Sandy) of Lenoir, Pamela Houck (Ronnie) of Collettsville, Frances Honeycutt (John) of Lenoir and Deborah Greer (Earnest) of Collettsville; his sister-in-law Regina Johnston (Rick) of Lenoir; and his grandchildren, Karley Shantay Kirby and Dawsyn Scott Kirby. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19 the family will have a private graveside service.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
