He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Vance and Mamie Hammette Vance; his wife Mary Ellis Vance; and his brother Dannie Vance. He is survived by: his sons, Charlie Ray Vantz of Lenoir, Neil Lloyd Vance (Kathy) of Lenoir, David Wilburn Vance of Morganton and Charles Roy Vance Jr. (Melissa) of Granite Falls; and his sister Stella Gowen of Leoma, Tennessee. He is also survived by three granddaughters; and three great-grandsons.
