He is survived by: his wife Wanda Jenkins Shew; his children, Bruce Allen Shew of Michigan, Susie Smith of Michigan, Donna Ruff (Chuck) of Hickory and Carolyn Chester of Conover; his sisters, Shirley Stone of Lenoir, Betty Safriet of High Point and Ester Forrest of High Point; and his brother-in-law Vernon Blackburn of Wilkesboro. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
