He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Soots and Lessie Mae Cheek Soots; and his siblings, John Harrison Soots Jr., Doretha Mae Swanson, William Soots, Odell Soots and Sue Soots. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
