She is survived by: her husband Ottis Hightower; her children, James Christopher Hightower of Hickory and Susan Cook; her brother James Safriet; her grandchildren, Michele Mizen, Ashley Cook, Garrett Cook and Joie Shelton; and her great grandchildren, Zoey Mizen, Kellan Mizen and Freya Shelton.
