He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Franklin Stanley and Willie Mac Winters Stanley; his siblings, William Donald Stanley and Bessie Sluder Stanley; his daughter Denise Stanley; and his stepson William Eldridge Jr. (Billy).
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Elrod Stanley; his children, Mary Alice McGalliard of Hickory, Sarah Jane Poarch of Minnesota, Keith Allen Stanley (Heather) of Mountain City, TN and Donald Paul Stanley of Mountain City, TN; his stepson Jason Lee Eldridge of Hickory; his grandson Cody Lee Eldridge; and his sisters, Bonnie Spencer of Montana, Mary Jane Cannon of Maryland, Kay Roarch (Roy), Rose Prillman and Shirley Vestal (Clifton). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Caldwell County Hospice, 525 Pine Mtn.
