He was predeceased by his parents, Chester and Marie Deaton and his former wife, Wilberta Combs Deaton. He is survived by his wife Mary Anne Deaton; his sons: Grant of Leland and Greg (Jennifer) of DeWitt; his grandchildren: Jamison and Alex; his siblings: Jimmy (Jan Russell), Donna (Ralph Watson) and Sandie (Jim Price). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
