She was predeceased by: her husband Ovie Scott Jr.; her son Ovie Scott III; her parents, James Ervin Sr. of Renick, WV and Mary Ervin of Winnabow, NC; and her stepfather Marshall Grissom of Winnabow.
She is survived by: her daughter Melinda Ervin; her brothers, James Ervin, Jr. (Teresa) of Tornado, WV and John Ervin (Becky) of Rocky Point, NC; her stepbrother Robert Grissom of Bolivia, NC; her sisters, Jeanette Travis (Eddie) of Lehigh Acres, Fla and Caroline Dove (Rick) of Leland, NC; her sister-in-law Debra Scott Womack (Dana) of Saint Albans, WV; and her close friend Debra Rayl of Bolivia, NC.. She is also survived by her family and leaves to cherish her memory five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
