He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel James Cook and Esther Lovenia Bollinger; his wife Cora Jane Moore Sturtz; and his siblings, Harry Emerson Cook and Shirley Allene Cook Robinson.
He is survived by: his children, James Alfred Cooke, Jr., Debora Lynn Cooke Chance, Eric Duane Cooke (Tammy), Janey Lynn McMillen (Brad) and Tobey Shane Sturtz (Deborah); his siblings, David Earl Cook (Linda), Donald Ray Cook (Donna), Gracie Lenora Cook Oosting (Jan) and Gloria Fay Cook Haddock (Bill); and his grandchildren, Franklin Cooke, Laura Woods (David), D. J. Blanton, Robyn Blanton (Matt Batson), Courtney Sturtz (Alex Rojas), Patrick McMillen, Jordan Sturtz, Zachary Cooke, Logan Cooke, Trey Cooke and Autumn Cooke.
