He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Adams and Virginia Batten Adams; his friends, Pete Freeman (Little League) and Danny Avant; his pets, Bubba and Smokey; his daughters, Celissa Stiles (Rick) of Leland and Tracy Williams of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Sgt Derek Sean Lewis, Kevin Williams of Wilmington, Jessica Stiles (John) and Devan Stiles of Leland; his sister Marlene Adams; and also, Nowell Adams, Autumn Rose Parks and Christian James Lewis.
