She was predeceased by: her parents, William Ernest and Helen Harrison Swaringen; and her husband William Oates "Bill" Hawley. She is survived by: her children, William Cameron Hawley (Susan), Boyd Harrison Hawley (Kellee) and Sarah Hawley Powell (Dean); her grandchildren, Anna Hawley, Meredith Hawley, Paige Hawley, Zack Powell, Ashley Powell, Kerry Shimfessel (Adriane) and Carly Campbell (Chris); and her great grandchildren, Lilly Shimfessel and Parker Campbell.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a donation to be made to the United Way of the Cape Fear area.
