She was predeceased by: her parents, James Russell Hawkins and Annie Mae Moore Hawkins; her siblings, Nancy Bradley (Don) and Thomas Russell Hawkins, Sr.; and her siblings-in-law, Joan Hawkins and Raymond Freeman.
She is survived by: her children, Mike Taylor (Lisa), Eddy Taylor (Revonda), Melody Eppler (Dwayne) and Michelle Berry (Sonny); her grandchildren, David, Kim, Seth, Jessica, Brett, Shelby, Drake, Mason, Christopher, Taylor and Katelyn; her sisters, Annette Buckner (Bruce), Loretta Freeman, Judy Owenby (Clarence) and Kathy Lovelace (Bruce); and her sister-in-law Nancy Hawkins. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Newfound Baptist Church (2605 New Leicester Hwy, Leicester, NC 28748). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
