He is survived by: his wife Judy Jarrett Payne; his children, Lisa Yates of Hendersonville, Michael Payne of Asheville and Donald Payne (Carla) of Asheville; his grandchildren, Ryan Yates, David Payne, Olivia Payne, Emily Payne, Skyler Randall, Debby Short, Briana Short and Benjamin Payne; his great grandchild Brianna; his brothers, Larry Bruce Payne (Julie) of Oklahoma and Perry Eugene Payne of Asheville; and his friend Larry Lunsford. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
