He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcomb Hamlett, Sr. and Edna Ford Hamlett; and his brothers, Wayne Hamlett and Larry Lee Hamlett. He is survived by: his daughter Tina (Justin); his grandchildren, Cody Barts of Burlington, NC and Kyle Barts of Burlington, NC; his siblings, Brenda Vernon of Yanceyville, NC and Steve Hamlett of Leasburg, NC.; and also, Justin Barts and Baynes Road.
