He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake Palmer and Aver Watts Deal; and his siblings, Frank Deal, Floyd Deal, Mildred Thompson and Joann Deal.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Cox Deal; his children, Tony Deal (Laverne) of Graham, Terry Deal (Mary Beth) of Liberty, Brian Lunsford (Gina) of Leasburg and Dana Lachapelle (Carl) of Haw River; his sister Susie Wiggins (James) of Otto; and his grandchildren, Lee Deal, Hannah Lunsford, Carson Lunsford Jeffreys, Clara Lachapelle and William Lachapelle.
