He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Robert and Ola Brann Briggs; his wife Peggy Anne Cobb Briggs; his siblings, Loretta Briggs Roberson, Jenny Briggs Clark and William Briggs Jr.; and his sons-in-law, Joe Grubbs and Joey Anderson.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Briggs Anderson Grubbs of Leasburg, NC and Nick Briggs, Jr. (Tammy) of Goode, VA; and his siblings, Larry Briggs (Rachel), Rickie Briggs (Cathy) of Leasburg, NC, Kaye Briggs Rich (Rudy) of Asheboro, NC and Faye Briggs of Virginia Beach, VA..
