He was predeceased by: his parents, Odus Harrell "Pete" Bess and Mary Helen Houser Bess. He is survived by: his wife Karen Wright Bess; his daughters, Dr. Wyndee Tarter (David Tarter) of Colfax and Angie Milne (Dennis) of Lawndale; and his grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, Avery, Eli Tarter, Andrew and Owen Milne.
