He is survived by: his parent Katherine Dale Benton; his wife Joyce Meade Benton; his son Tommy Benton; his grandchildren, Allison of Spindale, Thomas of Spindale, Katherine of Spindale and Jesse Benton of Spindale; and his siblings, Paul Benton of Casar and Lillie Earl.
