He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Dewey Sparks and Vada Brackett Sparks; and his wife Deborah Jean Sparks. He is survived by: his son Mark Sparks (Tina) of Cleveland County; his grandchildren, Raven Blanton of Lawndale, Sierra Sparks of Shelby and Savanna Sparks of Lawndale; and his great grandchild Waylon Creson. He is also survived by five brothers and one sister.
