It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe McMurry (Lawndale, North Carolina), born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on April 30, 2018, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent Robert Lee McMurry; and his siblings, Jack K. McMurry, Bob McMurry (Margaret) and Bernice McMurry Hoyle (Foy). He is survived by: his parent Selma Miller McMurry; his spouse Beverly Christy McMurry; his children, Steve McMurry (Jerrianne Queen) of Lawndale, Dale Houston (Crystal) of Kannapolis, Christy Devine (David) of Concord and Leanne Hall (Tim) of Statesville; his brother Fitzhugh McMurry, Sr.; his wife Judy of Lawndale; his grandchildren, Carrie Beth Summers (Will), Heath Houston, Andrew Hall (Carrilea), Katy Curie (Tim), Blake Houston and Hannah Houston; and his great grandchildren, William Monroe Curie and Adeline Grace Summers. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
