He is survived by: his parent Maudie Beatty Melton; his wife Maude Kathryn Gettys Melton; his daughters, Myra Douglass (Lee) of Casar and Melody Roberts (David) of Shelby; and his grandchildren, Laura Roberts, Madelyne Douglass and Brody Douglass. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
