It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Forrest Everett Smith of Lawndale, North Carolina, born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on July 23, 2021, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Smith and Bertie Lee Stallings Smith; and his son Scottie Everett Smith. He is survived by: his wife Rachel Workman Smith; his children, Chad Everett Smith (Amy) of Lawndale, Robert Willis of Cherryville, Christie McNeilly (Paul) of Casar and Dara Smith Melker (Greg) of Lawndale; his siblings, Wes Smith of Golden Valley, Paul Cecil Smith of Morganton and Eva Mae Bumgarner of Casar; and his grandchildren, Ashland Willis, Jon Willis, Joshua Parker, Caroline Smith, Jada Messer and Daxton Melker. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
